The inspiration behind our unique greeting cards...
Even the words “black beauty” bring to mind hints of mystery and magic and this is exactly what we wanted to convey while creating this gorgeous mandala gift card design. Although this design doesn’t resemble a horse, we were inspired by the story of Black Beauty to portray a life long journey of growth, achievement and adventure.
This mandala shows the ups and downs of life but in particular the parts that should be celebrated and that’s exactly why this gift card is perfect for those who have just graduated school or university or friends who are about to embark on a life-changing journey or even to welcome a newborn child into the family.
Every aspect of this design is a salute to all the incredible people who have been through such incredible hardships but have still emerged from the other side successful, strong and happy. Black Beauty went through so many heartbreaking times and struggles but in the end, he was brought back to the man who loved him the most and lived out the rest of his days, happy and carefree.

Our unique greeting cards - The story behind the art...
You may know the story of Black Beauty the beautiful horse whose life started humbly at a small farm and then faced a never ending series of hardships and struggles throughout his life. Through the course of it all, he remains positive, strong, brave and loyal and as a result, managed to navigate through the hard times and end up in a place where he felt safe and happy.
While most people can’t relate their lives to the story of a horse, a lot can be learned from the story of Black Beauty. We hope that this design inspires you to stay strong in the hard times, work hard and stay positive. This gift card is a reminder that anything is possible and is a great symbol of celebrating success, hard work and outstanding achievements. Wondering how our unique greeting cards are created?
The Black Beauty gift card was designed on 100% recycled paper in a little jungle shack in Brisbane, Australia. Inspiration comes to us in abundance when we’re out in the fresh air, surrounded by greenery and with birds chirping in the background and this is the exact setting where we designed the Black Beauty gift card. We used non-toxic pens to create the mandala design and the artwork took just over an hour to draw. Once the design was completed, we deliver it to a local printing business and get the gift cards printed onto 100% recycled card so that we can further reduce our impact on the environment while simultaneously supporting our reforestation efforts. All the gift cards are hand folded and then paired with their very own crisp, white envelope before being bundled together with 100% recycled copper wire.
Ethical shipping & packaging - From Sophia. to you...
Upon purchasing a Black Beauty gift card or two, we’ll carefully select a card and envelope that has been beautifully tied up in copper wire bow and place it into a larger envelope made from 100% recycled materials. We also include a unique hand written note, welcoming you into the Sisterhood of Sustainability and thanking you for your sustainable and ethical purchase.
From there, we then get Australia’s first carbon neutral shipping company, Sendle to deliver your mandala gift cards directly to your door. Sendle ensure that all the emissions from their deliveries are offset by contributing to South Pole Groups reforestation programs and conservation efforts both within Australia and around the world. The team at Sophia. will then also remove 100 pieces of rubbish from Australian waterways and bushland on your behalf and also plant one native Australian tree for every shipment.
