Our Bespoke Cards Collection - Coastal Blues Gift Card
We wanted to create a stunning gift card design that reflects the beauty of the ocean and the rugged coastline and so the Coastal Blues Gift Card was born. The blue represents both the sea and the sky and where they meet on the horizon. It is the perfect way to say thank you, show your appreciation or say hello!
The inspiration behind our bespoke cards...
What’s not to love about crashing waves, sandy beaches and blue skies? We made it our mission to capture these wondrous things and creatively interpret them into a gift card – this is how the Coastal Blues Gift Card was born. As humans, we are naturally drawn to the colour blue because we sub-consciously connect it with nature. It is because of this connection that we wanted to create a piece of art that people could easily relate to. You’ll love using these aqua and sapphire coloured gift cards for birthdays, congratulations and graduations and well as writing thank you cards to people in your life that you really appreciate.
Our bespoke cards - The story behind the art...
We used the colour blue for this design, not only because it represents the sea and the sky, but because blue also symbolises peacefulness, tranquillity and reflection. The ocean is more important than most people realise because it provides earth with over 70% of its oxygen supply! So if the ocean suffers, we ultimately suffer too… As well as bringing back blissful memories of summers gone by, we also want the Coastal Blues Gift Card to serve as a reminder that we need to do all we can to help protect our waterways and the flora and fauna that call the ocean home.
Wondering how our bespoke cards are created?
The Coastal Blues Gift Card has been created entirely different to the rest of our ethical giftware collection because we have used two different tones and thicknesses of blue pens. This artistic method creates a unique visual effect with plenty of depth and texture.
As usual, this design has been created using non-toxic pens and recycled cardboard and once the ocean inspired design was complete, we sent it off to our local printers to be transformed into eco-friendly gift cards. Upon returning from the printer, we carefully hand folded each one and used quality control to ensure that none of the cards had been damaged or misprinted. The cards were then paired together with a white envelope and then set aside on a shelf in our workshop until we received your order.

Ethical shipping & packaging - From Sophia. to you...
Unlike gift cards from other brands, we refuse to support the felling of additional trees to create our products and so always utilise recycled cardboard and paper for our gift card collection. We also refuse to wrap our cards and envelopes in single use plastic and instead, opt for a gorgeous bow made from recycled copper wire and a large envelope which is also made from recycled cardboard.
Once your order has been carefully and lovingly packaged, we then use Sendle, which is Australia’s first carbon neutral shipping company, to deliver the parcel directly to your door. As well as finding the items you’ve ordered inside, you’ll also find a handwritten note thanking you for supporting sustainable and ethical businesses and inviting you to be part of our exclusive community – The Sisterhood of Sustainability.
