Historically, the purple represents justice and dignity and the green represents hope. This is a not-for-profit project and these gift cards are designed for one purpose - to fill them with words of appreciation, admiration and support and then pass them along to friends, family and strangers.

This special project was created for the purpose of inspiring and uplifting women from all around the world. International Women's Day is a time to celebrate women and all that we are. This Jumbo gift card pack comes with twelve cards, the love heart, the circle of life and the flower. Pass each and every gift card onto family members, friends and even strangers! Simply write something you love about them, why you admire them, thank them for something or tell them why they make you smile.
It's a small gesture but it's going to make someones day! We've made this project not-for-profit so will only cover the costs of the materials and shipping. To make this movement even more powerful, each gift card has been hand designed and printed on 100% recycled card so it won't cost the earth.

The inspiration behind our mission of empowering women...
Everywhere you look, there is a woman who is hardworking, is constantly doing good deeds, who is a loving mother or a great friend. Women from all over the earth are doing wonderful, fabulous and miraculous things each and every day and we wanted to make International Women’s Day the perfect opportunity to recognise and each every one of them. Historically, the colours for International Women’s Day symbolise justice and dignity in the purple and hope within the green and we’ve created our three gift card designs in these colours to follow in the traditional footsteps of this wonderful celebration.
Empowering women - The story behind the art....
We have created a very special and inspiring project for International Women’s Day and while 2019 was the inaugural year for the project, we intend to host it every year to help inspire and empower as many women as possible. The outline of the project is simple – we have designed three very unique gift cards in the International Women’s Day colours (green and purple) for the purpose of filling each one with words of love, appreciation, thankfulness, admiration, encouragement and kindness and then passing the gift cards onto women in your life who inspire you.
You could choose to pass your gift cards onto women you know and love or you could even choose to give them to strangers! Each year, our campaign begins in January so that we’re able to get as many women involved as possible in the lead up to International Women’s Day. Our goal is for the gift cards to spread to all corners of the earth and to give many women the extra little bit of encouragement they might need, the recognition they deserve or just to put a smile on their face. Wondering how our International Womens Day gift cards are created?
The green and purple heart, flower and circular mandala designs were created as part of our International Women’s Day Gift Card collection and all the designs were planned and drawn within the same day. To create the least amount of impact through the drawing process, we use 100% recycled drawing paper and non-toxic pens and then hand deliver the finished design to our local printer to be turned into sustainable and ethical gift cards.
To follow on with our eco-friendly and ethically conscious values, we choose to use a Brisbane based printer which is nearby to the Sophia. workshop to ensure that we are supporting the local economy, supporting other small businesses and reducing carbon emissions caused from travel miles. Once the International Women’s Day Gift Cards have been printed, we then lovingly hand fold each one before checking each card to ensure that they follow our high standard of quality and craftsmanship.
To follow on with our eco-friendly and ethically conscious values, we choose to use a Brisbane based printer which is nearby to the Sophia. workshop to ensure that we are supporting the local economy, supporting other small businesses and reducing carbon emissions caused from travel miles. To bring this vision to life, we carefully bundle up your twelve International Women’s Day gift cards and matching white envelopes with a pretty piece of recycled copper wire and then place the whole collection into an envelope made from 100% recycled materials.

The theme for the 2020 International Women's Day is #EachforEqual - An equal world is an enabled world. Celebrate womens achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality. International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women - while also marking a call to action for accelerating gender balance.
The first International Women's Day occurred in 1911, supported by over one million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific.
Gloria Steinem, world-renowned feminist, journalist and activist once explained "The story of women's struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organisation but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights."

How we're empowering women this year...
Last year, 895 women from 8 different countries joined in and became inspired by our empowering project and it was so wonderful to see so many beautiful women coming together to celebrate International Womens Day. As part of last years project, we featured 100 women from around the world and shared their empowering stories. Each and every one of them had an inspiring tale to tell and a beautiful piece of advice to pass onto you. From California to Kenya, these women came together to be part of this project and to help inspire thousands of women from across the globe.
This year, we will be featuring another 100 inspiring and empowering women but we will be sharing the stories in a special and limited edition book for all to download and enjoy. If you have an inspiring story to share, we'd love to hear from you...
