Bigger isn't always better but when it comes to our large copper bowls, this is certainly the case. You won't be able to get enough of the gorgeous copper hues and we're telling you now that this bowl is going to look amazing right in the centre of your dining table!
The inspiration behind our pretty bohemian tableware...
The handcrafted copper bowl made from 100% recycled copper wire was the first creation in our copper collection and we were inspired by the idea of taking something old and practically unusable and turning it into a luxurious and beautiful piece of art. Our inspiration also stemmed from the fact that so much waste is thrown into landfill each year – 64 million tonnes per year in Australian alone; and we wanted our copper collection to showcase that various materials can be reused without having to undergo a costly and carbon emission producing process just to get it back to a new and usable form.
Copper is also such a versatile material which is strong but pliable, basic but beautiful! These sparkling and luxurious copper creations are a stunning addition to any part of your home and can be used for generations to come. Each copper bowl is handcrafted individually, bound together by a million different weaves and created with a love for beauty and a passion for the environment.
Pretty bohemian tableware - The story behind the art...
The reason that this was the first piece created for this unique collection is because large bowls are so versatile and because they’re made of 100% copper, they look incredible too! These bowls are a perfect representation of the saying “waste not, want not” which means that if you use a commodity or resource carefully and without extravagance, you will never be in need.
This is also the reason that each of our copper homeware creations are made to order and are uniquely designed for each customer. We’ve had an overwhelming response to our entire collection and the sparkling beauty of each piece is what draws people in time and time again.
Our customers love the way that these stunning bowls can be used for almost anything and can easily become the centrepiece to any feast or table setting and we’ve had lots of feedback suggesting new and wonderful ways in which the bowls can be used. Fruit bowls, bread baskets, flower arrangements and pot plant holders were just a few of great suggestions we have received.

Wondering how our bohemian tableware is created?
For each and every copper homewares piece that we create, we first source scrap pieces of electrical wire from local businesses as the pieces are too short to be usable for wiring a house and end up at the metal recyclers anyway! Each length of cable then has to be stripped of its plastic coating (we donate these strips to our local school for them to use in craft projects – once again avoiding the need for anything to go into landfill) to reveal the copper underneath. Each cable is made up of about 8 strands of wire which then have to be carefully untwisted from each other before they’re ready to be used. The preparation of the cable is an extremely tedious and time consuming task but once you see these copper bowls, you’ll understand why it’s worth it! With the copper ready to go, we then carefully twist and weave it into the desired shape and for these large bowls, that takes over 15 hours to do! The finished bowl is then meticulously checked and the ends of the wire tightly bound together to create the completed homewares piece.
Carbon neutral shipping & packaging - From Sophia. to you...
After falling in love with one of these beautiful creations, deciding you need one in the centre of your dining table and then placing an order, we then carefully create your very own unique bowl as all of our copper homewares are made to order. This also means that delivery may take a little longer than normal, but believe us, the wait is worth it! Upon finishing the creation of your order, we’ll carefully package your bowl in a recycled cardboard box and surround it with used newspaper or 100% recycled brown paper, so that we can do our part in keeping waste to a minimum.
We’ll also include a note thanking you for your sustainable and ethical purchase and will invite you to be part of The Sisterhood of Sustainability (our very own community of eco conscious women who are striving to make a difference) so that you can continue to make a positive impact. So that we’re able to deliver your parcel directly to your door, we use Sendle which is Australia’s first carbon neutral shipping company and to further reduce our impact, we also remove 100 pieces of rubbish from the environment on your behalf and plant one native tree for Australian wildlife for each shipment.

About the Collection - Bohemian Tableware
Our specialty is handcrafted homewares with a sustainable twist and our copper homewares collection aligns perfectly with our mission to reduce waste and provide beautiful and luxurious products.
Each copper bowl and plate has been created with 100% recycled copper wire and it takes up to 30 hours for one piece to be completed. It's a long process from the stripping of the wire, the untwisting, the re-twisting and then the weaving into the beautiful finished product but we believe that quality homewares come from hard work, attention to detail and quality control.
